Frequently Asked Questions

View All FAQs

Are digital safes actually safer than traditional key safes for home use?

Yes, digital safes offer significantly better security than traditional key safes. Ozone digital safes provide multi-layer access - PIN code, biometric fingerprint, or a combination of both - so there's no single key that can be stolen or duplicated. They include an anti-tamper alarm that activates on forced entry attempts. The steel body construction with shooting bolts makes forced access very difficult. For added physical security, Ozone safes come with pre-drilled holes and fasteners so you can anchor them to a wall or floor.

What happens to a digital safe if the battery dies - am I locked out permanently?

No, you won't be locked out. Ozone digital safes use 4 × 1.5V AA alkaline batteries and have two backup options if the battery dies: an external 9V battery terminal on the door exterior (press a 9V battery against the terminals to get enough charge to open it) and a mechanical override key for emergencies. The safe also shows a low-battery warning on the display well before power runs out. Replace batteries every 6–12 months as a routine - not 1–2 years as previously stated.

Which Ozone digital safe is best for storing jewellery, cash, and documents together?

For storing jewellery, cash, and documents in one safe, go for a 30L+ model. The Ozone Safilo Bio-2 (55L) is a strong choice - it supports fingerprint + PIN combination unlocking and has ample internal space with a removable shelf. For premium models, look for velvet/jewellery tray variants. The 55L safe weighs 24.7kg and has dimensions of 555H × 350W × 360D mm. For lighter multi-use needs, the 40L model (20.4kg) also supports 2-in-1 fingerprint and password access and includes an auto-lock mode.

Can a digital safe be wall-mounted, or does it need to sit on the floor?

Both options are available. Ozone digital safes come with pre-drilled holes and fasteners for wall or floor installation - this is confirmed on the website. Smaller models (under 15L) are well-suited to wall mounting into studs or concrete. Larger models like the 55L (24.7kg) and 40L (20.4kg) are typically floor-placed due to their weight, but can also be floor-anchored via their base holes. Always install on a solid surface in a discreet location for maximum security.

Do Ozone digital safes come with fire or waterproof protection?

Yes, select models do. Ozone's Fire Warrior series is designed for fire protection and is certified by UL (Underwriters' Laboratories) and BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). These safes can withstand external temperatures of up to 1100°C - note: an earlier version of this FAQ incorrectly stated 1000°C; the correct figure per the website is 1100°C. Entry-level digital safes offer basic water-resistant seals but are not fully waterproof. For document-grade fire protection, always choose from the Fire Warrior collection at ozokart.com/collections/fire-warrior-safe-series.
